after having sore throat, a tear drop shaped thing hanging by a thread off of my uvula, it is same color of my uvula but i always feel like theres something in my throat, i went to Dr. and he said its a cyst and i m gonna go to a specialist.I had been exposed to strep throat and then got bad sore throat and did not go to Dr. for that. Hoping the thing hanging off my uvula is just a reaction to untreated strep!

Hi Anonymous,

I also have the exact symptoms. Looks like a uvula skin piece is hanging on a thread from uvula tip. What was the diagnosis for you?

Hi Anonymous,

Did you have this cyst prior to the strep throat? If not, then this is likely the reason why you have developed this cyst. Smoking is also known to cause cysts on the uvula but since there isn't much information on this your doctor would be the best person to confirm whether or not the cyst could be caused by the untreated strep throat.

Keep us posted!

No it appeared after, not a smoker either. Thank you for your response, i hope that its just from getting sick, and nothing else is wrong!
