I used to be on swim team in high school and got Swimmer's Ear one time. I went to the doctor and got treatment, but am worried it could come back one day after I go swimming. What causes Swimmer's Ear?

Hi Lauren,

Good question and welcome to Empowher. Swimmers ear is simply an infection of your ear due to constant moisture and can sometimes be very painful and annoying. Here is an article from our site that helps with identifying how to avoid this annoyance https://www.empowher.com/swimmer039s-ear/content/protect-your-ear-canals-painful-swimmers-ear.

Hope this helps.
