The most common cause of a scarred pancreas is drinking too much alcohol or alcoholism. Like the liver, scar tissue can form, causing scarring and causes the pancreas to malfunction. Severe malnutrition can be a cause as well, and there can also be a genetic component. Your doctor can help you further.
