What can you do when insurance companies refuse to pay for treatments procedures you think should be paid?

I am so tired of paying for insurance only to learn something is not covered. Today it was a bone graph for my daughter Amanda. Humana basically said... too bad Amanda. You can go without a front tooth. A lot of people do. We don't pay for cosmetic procedures. Really??? You can't be serious??? 6,800. later and she can't afford it. How do you insure you have the right coverage so things like this don't happen? As a women's health advocate and mother , I am absolutely furious with the lack of not only caring about the patient but what "they" consider to be cosmetic or not. THIS IS NOT FAIR!! Why have insurance if they are just going to pay for teeth cleaning. That's pretty much what it covers. Furious..MKR
