I've been off my meds for 2 1/2 months and just resumed 5 days ago. I do not have a thyroid. The cramps in my neck and ribs and legs are killing me. Any advice??

Guide

Hello, Anon.

Thank you for posting.

The thyroid gland produces hormones that regulate the body's metabolic rate as well as heart and digestive function, muscle control, brain development, mood, and bone maintenance. So, it's extremely important to take thyroid medicines when your thyroid is removed. I'm glad you are back on it. Unfortunately, it might take some time for you to start feeling better. More than 5 days. My advice to see your doctor as soon as possible to discuss your test results. If you are feeling very ill and cannot wait, seek medical attention at the ER or an after-hours medical facility in your area.
