Q:

What are the best positions for an overweight woman during sexual activity? What excersizes can be done to increase flexibility and ease of movement during sexual activity?

Your response is not only unhelpful, but it is quite demeaning. An overweight person looking to enhance their sex life is not the same thing as learning to overcome a significant disability. Your book recommendation is insulting to overweight people and people with disabilities. Your answer to the stretching and flexibility question basically sounds like you are just saying to lose weight. People of all shapes and sizes can enjoy sex and comments like yours are more likely to increase insecurities instead of encouraging confidence and creativity. Of course people can try any position they come up with. That's fairly obvious to everyone. The point of the question is to search out what others have had success and enjoyment with. True not everyone likes the same thing, but sometimes you just need a fresh starting point.

I agree with you about A. Beavers reply. I have done a search on this. My partner and I are both big and I put a search out for sexual positions for the obese. I am on page three and have only found two articles that have good information. The rest talks about emotions and embarrassment and losing weight. Good suggestions are using pillow to elevate your hips, holding your bellies up until you are joined, woman on top (however I cannot do this position) doggy style, and other positions that make it easier and more comfortable for join, they also suggests changing positions if you or your partner needs a rest. Also, if you do the missionary position they ask that the man slowly lower himself if he is large. I hope this helps!

I can't really give you a specific position seeing as there are too many but I will say this, as long as you two are comfortable then go for it. If you plan and stick to one position, it'll be boring and might lead to loss of interest for the both of you. So just go with the flow.

As for exercises, take your pick! Yoga, pilates even walking or jogging would be a great start. Pace yourself, get into a rhythm and I'm sure things will work out just fine. Best of luck!

Try putting a pillow (prefebarly a wedge shaped one) underneath your hips to elevate them and it will allow for deeper pennetration and also not so much bending on your part

Hi,

People of all shapes, sizes and physical abilities are able to have satisfying sexual relationships. The position(s) that work best for you are the ones that work best for you and your partner, on that particular day, in that particular moment. I don't mean to sound so generic, but there are too many positions for me to list (and, I'm assuming you are asking about penis-vagina sexual activity)?

I am not sure what your actual physical limitations are (as well as your mental limitations and preferences), but any position that you two can dream of, that is pleasing to you both, is a position that you can do.

There is a book that is recommended for increasing intimacy with a partner who has physical limitations called, "The Ultimate Guide to Sex and Disability: For All of Us Who Live With Disabilities, Chronic Pain, and Illness" by Cory Silverberg, Miriam Kaufman, and Fran Odette.

The second part of your question: what exercises can be done to increase flexibility? Yoga, pilates, dance, gymnastics, swimming...these can all increase your flexibility and stamina, as well as help you lose weight...which will also increase your range of motion and flexibility. Do you have access to a nearby gym, workout center or a DVD where you can follow an instructor's workout routine?

Let me know what other information you are seeking; I'm not sure if I really answered your questions.
