Hello. Here's my question:
I've been experiencing weird sensations after fooling around with my partner the a few weeks ago. I was at the very end of my period, had the menstrual cup in, but he slightly entered me (unprotected). Soon after (or during) I felt like I was chafing. In the morning, the sensation was still there, and seemed to kind of burn more. My discharge that morning was chunky, so I thought I was getting a yeast infection, but that went away immediately. My discharge since has seemed maybe a little more watery than normal, but it is a normal color (cloudy white) with no foul smell. I thought it could be a UTI but I didn't have any pain with urination, or any trouble with emptying my bladder, though I did experience some more frequent need to use the bathroom. Along with the burning I experienced nausea quite badly for 3-4 days, some slight lower back pain by the 5th, as well as cramping in my left side, around my ovary. The cramping around my ovary has persisted even now (10 days later) but it isn't so persistent. I also had cramping around my right ovary about 2 days ago.
I was freaked out looking for symptoms and found that mine sounded a lot like chlamydia or ovarian cysts. I've been tested for STD's before being with him, and he says he was also tested, so the likelihood of that is slim, but I do have a doctor's appointment later this week. Could it be a cyst that ruptured? I have had pre-cancerous cells detected on my pap tests in the past. Could that have something to do with it? The only thing that seems to affect me now is still a little discomfort around my left ovary, off and on.
I find the chances REALLY slim, but I do have a short cycle (24 days) and the nausea made me think I could possibly be pregnant, too, but I think that is SO unlikely even though my ovulation days followed around the time we fooled around. I'm very sensitive in many regards, so it wouldn't surprise me if I felt something like that earlier than most, but I'm pretty sure burning sensations in the nether regions isn't usually a sign of that? =P

Eep, I'm sorry you had to go through that! I hope that you are doing better now. Since having dysplasia found during my paps, they've been the bane of my existence... Not a fun place to be having problems at all!!
My doctor didn't seem too concerned with my symptoms when I went in, although the appointment was for something else and that took up most of the time. I guess I'll have to make another appointment for a full physical just to be on the safe side. As it is, all seems back to normal at the least... And pregnancy can definitely be written off =P

You're so welcome! I'm very glad to have been some help to you (EmpowHer moderators LOVE to lift weight off our readers' shoulders!) I'm glad you've got a doctor's appointment, and I hope she/he can figure out what's going on so you can get rid of the pain. (Me, it took a laparoscopy -- I had endometriosis.) Thank-you Diane for writing all that! Looking at the symptoms again, you're probably right... It's probably a lot more likely that it is a cyst giving me troubles.
As for the nausea, it did start the next morning. We'd been out the night before, had a few drinks, so initially I just thought I was a bit hungover. When it lasted for days, I was irked though. I didn't know that chlamydia symptoms, if they show up at all, usually take a few weeks as well. Aaah, bit of a weight lifted off my shoulders even if it has just been paranoia playing tricks with me since those pains... Hopefully the doctor appointment won't turn that around either. I'll try to update once I've gotten in.. Thank-you again!

Hi, Anon, and welcome to EmpowHer! Let's see what we can figure out for you.
It sounds like the burning or chafing was possibly just due to lack of lubrication. I agree with you that since there is no burning or irritation when you urinate that it's probably not a urinary infection.
Regarding the nausea, did it start immediately? Like, that day or the next morning? At that point, even if a conception had occured, the embryo wouldn't even have implanted yet, so it wouldn't be a sign of pregnancy. Usually women start feeling nauseous about the time of their first missed period.

When I read the symptoms of chlamydia, while a couple of them seem to be similar to what you're describing, not all of them do. Both sources say that if there are going to be symptoms (many people stay asymptomatic even though they have it), they will appear 1 to 3 weeks after exposure. Chlamydia is diagnosed with a swab test and treated with antibiotics.
And yes, the pain you experienced could very likely be caused by ovarian cysts. From how you describe it, I wouldn't be suprised. I had these in the past and the pain was very localized near the ovary and very sharp. Do you often feel it when you ovulate? Sometimes when a woman has ovarian cysts she is more likely to actually feel a slight pain when the ovary releases an egg.

Of course I'm not in the medical field, but I wouldn't think that your abnormal pap in the past would be connected to these symptoms. That would seem more connected to cervix and uterus functions.
