Q:

Used a condom, no breaks, no leaks, no tears. Period late.

Hello. I'm 22 and my periods are usually regular, maybe a day or two off the schedule. My partner and I have an active sex life, especially since I moved countries to live with him three weeks ago. We practice safe sex by using condoms religiously, we checked for breaks, tears, splits and leaks, and there were none, but my period is one day late and I do feel light cramps, but I am not sure if it's my intestinse or uterus. I know I might be overreacting, especially due to my anxiety issues and that I've been stressed cause of the whole trip, job finding and the idea of falling pregnant. But I'd like a second opinion, could I be pregnant? Thank you in advance.

Hello Anon

Thank you for writing!

There is little risk of pregnancy since you are using condoms every time and checking for breaks/leaks. Moving/travel can upset the menstrual cycle a lot. I've moved many times and my period has been delayed up to 3 months at times. It's subconscious stress.

Since you are only a day late and have been a day or two early/late before, either of these scenarios are far more likely than pregnancy. There seems to be nor real risk of pregnancy. Your period should arrive in the next few days.
Best,
Susan
