Is there a rash early with shingles or does it start with pain

Thank you for writing.

Symptoms vary from person to person. It's even possible to have shingles with no rash at all.

Generally speaking, pain is usually the first symptom for the majority of people. A rash doesn't come first. Pain can be tingly and burning. A rash then develops several days later.
