I was told I have shingles in my ear canal and I have never heard of any such cases. I’m in extreme pain and I need answers. Please let me know.

Hello. Thank you for posting.

While shingles is not life-threatening, it can cause a painful rash anywhere on your body. Herpes zoster oticus, (Ramsay Hunt syndrome) is a complication of shingles infection that affects facial muscles and the inner ear.
