i had the surgical abortion last week on friday, it was a most unpleasant experience cos i felt alot of pain, i've been bleeding since then till today wen i noticed i wasn't bleeding anylonger, is this ok?, also i'd lyk to know wen i shud take another pregnancy test. i still feel tenderness in my breast....i now use protection although i really do not enjoy it that much....i'm still not so comfortable taking pills, what do you recommend i do?

thank you again, you mentioned intercourse should be avoided for 2 to 3 wks, i want to know why and i have already had intercourse what would happen to me?

A surgical abortion will result in the termination of a pregnancy, so you will not need to take a pregnancy test, at least immediately. Experts also recommended not engaging in strenuous activity or using a tampon for a few days. Intercourse should be avoided for 2 to 3 weeks. A normal menstrual period should occur 4 to 6 weeks after the operation, according to Medline.
