Thanks for your Ask, Anonymous. Pelvic organ prolapse is a condition in which the muscles and ligaments supporting the female pelvic structure is weakened, causing the pelvcauses the pelvic organs to drop  and fall lower down into a woman's pelvic cavity. This can impact the bladder, utgerus and rectum individually or together. While some women have no symptoms, it's more common to have a feeling of pressure in the pelvic area. Other symptoms include painful intercourse, back aches, constipation, urinary leakage, a feeling that something is falling out of the vagina. Symptoms will vary depending on the organ involved. The most common cause of pelvic organ prolapse and incontinence in women is childbearing. The stresses of a pregnancy cause a continued pressure and stretch on the support ligaments and over time these ligaments weaken which causes a drop in these structures.

If you think you're dealing with pelvic organ prolapse it would be best to make an appointment with your heath care provider or gynecologist for an exam and support. We hope everything works out well for you, and soon.

Best,

Pat
