Had protected sex (and for the first time, too) with the boyfriend on the 1st of April (about day 10 of my cycle) But as a precaution, took ECP on the 2nd of April. Took 4 at 12noon and took the next 4 at 12 midnight. Got the withdrawal bleed 7 days later. 1st day was a bit of brown discharge, 2nd day was period-like and medium to heavy flow, and the 3rd day was light flow brown discharge. It's now about another week after, and my period was due four days ago (according to Flo app). Have not been experiencing any symptoms except a bit of white discharge from time to time. I've been so stressed out ever since the deed. I really hope you can help (and that I have no risk of pregnancy!) Thank you so much!

Hello km0901
Thank you for writing.
There is no need to take emergency contraception "just in case" as all it does is cause necessary side effects and a change in the menstrual cycle.
April 20, 2018 - 4:22amYour next bleed may be up to four weeks after your bleeding after taking the medication. There is little to no risk of pregnancy.
Best,
Susan

Thank you for replying! I've just been worried as as I have never done this before. Just to clarify, I can expect my period in about two weeks from now? (As I had my bleed around two weeks ago).

Hello
Yes, it may come anytime from now until the next couple of weeks. Irregularity is a common side effect of taking emergency contraception.
