You can't catch shingles from someone else who has shingles. But there is a chance that a person with a shingles rash can spread the virus to another person who hasn't had chickenpox and who hasn't gotten the chickenpox vaccine. The virus is spread through direct contact with fluid from the rash blisters caused by shingles. A person with active shingles can spread the virus when the rash is in the blister-phase. A person is not infectious before the blisters appear. Once the rash has developed crusts, the person is no longer contagious.

Hello.

Yes. You can get Shingles on the buttocks. It will typically affect one side and can spread between the cheeks.
