On October 1st, I had a flu shot, not the H1N1, just the regular flu shot. I've had the flu shot many times before with muscle pain and soreness in the arm that the injection was received in that usually subsided within a few days.
This time however, the pain was almost unbearable and seemed to be "spreading" to other parts of my body.
The first night it was just my upper arm. The second night it was my upper arm, pec muscle, muscles of the underarm, and muscles in the upper corner of my back. It was excrutiating and was slightly relieved with 800mg of ibuprofen.
The third night it was also in the muscles on the side of my neck.
The fourth night it was starting to travel down my arm into my hand and wrist. At this point I was also experiencing weakness and difficulty holding or picking up objects.
By the the end of the weak it had radiated to the other side of my body. So basically my entire upper body was painful and weak. Both arms, both upper back, both pec muscles etc... Again I'm taking 800mg ibuprofen around the clock which does slightly relieve the pain. I'm also using heating pads which slightly relieve the pain as well.
It has now been almost two weaks and it has radiated to my lower back, my stomach (as if i just did a hundred situps), my hands, my thighs, my calfs. I feel weak and am having trouble just sitting at the computer typing or picking up a drink.
As far as I know the flu shot can't cause this kind of reaction but, what else could this be??

Today I feel like I fell off a roof. There is not a spot on my body that is not in severe pain. It hurts to the bone. I can hardly walk. This is after getting a dose of the regular flu shot in my arm. I was used to this but Katy bolt the door. I am in terrible shape.

Sounds like i am in the same boat as many of you are. On Oct 7 2017 I got a flu shot for the first time ever. I am 65 and in pretty good health. About 2 weeks later I noticed a pain developing in my right hip, it progressively got worse and then moved to my groin area. I thought I had a dislocated hip so I went to a chiropractor. He took x-rays and said all my muscles where all jammed up on that side. I had muscle stimulation with no relief. The pain slowly moved to the other side of my hip and groin area,( that was about 2 months after my shot). The pain slowly left my hips(but left stiffness behind), and went to my left shoulder. I wasn't even able to put my socks or a shirt on without very much pain. Now it seems to be in my front shoulder-neck area. This has been 3 1/2 months now and I am still have trouble even getting out of bed and am very stiff in the mornings. My Dr. is finally going to do blood work tomorrow, and I hope he is able to help me as I am not sleeping normal and am having a very hard time even walking or sitting. Ibuprofen has helped but pretty much nothing else. There should be a class action lawsuit against the drug co distributing this poison. I WILL NEVER get or recommend a flu shot to me or anyone else. So sorry to hear of all the trouble this is giving so many people.

Wondering how you are doing now. I had a flu shot about the same time that you did. I am 72 so probably got the same "senior" shot that you got. Two days later I had pain in my right sciatica and in my neck. Eventually it moved from the right to the left sciatica. Neck pain is sometimes everywhere, sometimes on one side. I'm having physical therapy after going to a physiatrist. Both the physiatrist and the PT seemed familiar with this reaction. However, my internist said it is not from the flu shot. I disagree. Just reading this page, and knowing what happened to me …. our bodies' immune systems are fighting the flu vaccine.

Hi, thanks for reporting your experience and symptoms. I'm also 65 and almost always get the flu shot but this year i started having symptoms a lot like yours. About two wks after the shot i got overall muscle weakness, fatigue went to bed for two and a half days, flew to miami and was fine for weekend but upon return, pain started in my neck and upper back and got so bad i couldnt move my neck and went to the ER. They had no clue of cause. I was on ibuprofen and tylenol around the clock and subsided some, then my right shoulder developed intense pain to the tounch and couldnt sleep on it at all., using heat,cold ibuprofen its somewhat better, but suddenly my hip started hurting so much can barely lift my leg. I've never had anything like this and am/ was very fit. I told my doc about shoulder pain and he referred me to a physical thrapist. I think he has no clue either.

My flu shot was a week ago. The following two days, I felt like I had the flu. I heart from head to toe and just generally felt awful. It improved, as I am not feeling every single bone in my body ache, but now my arms are both tingling, all the way down to my hands. My hands are not "cooperating" with me the way they typically do. LIke, I was trying to flip through flash cards with a student, and couldn't handle them with my fingers like usual. I'm very concerned. :(

I am updating my original post. I'm feeling much better, finally. I've been supplementing with Vitamin D3 and flushing my system with water. I will never...EVER...take that shot again, nor will I allow my children to do so. My body is equipped with a system to handle illness, and I'll be using it. When/If I get the flu, I'll support that immune system naturally. Big pharma can kick rocks. I'm done with that mess.

Well I had the flu shot about 3months ago and my body just aches all over I haven't felt right since, in the past I had to get it for work so I switched jobs and when I went for my check up they asked if I wanted it didn't think anything cuz in the past no effects....this time 2017 I think it was in Oct I got it now both arms hurt can barley move and my hips and legs just ache on my two days off I don't wanna do anything but rest, when k went back to my doctor and told her she looked at me like I was crazy and blamed my weight...but I felt fine before the shot....I'm thinking I'll make another appointment but I will never get the shot again...hope to find answers soon

Hamstrings, groin, back and neck muscles for me. No more flu shots. Swear vitamin D is helping. No pain unless I try to move.
