Hope someone out there hears me and can help me. Three years ago I had surgery to repair a vaginal prolapse, cystocele and rectocele. That surgery began my decent into hell. I have not been the same since. If I had known then what I know now, I would have never, ever, ever, ever considered this surgery. I have had numerous infection, surgery to repair the repair, reocurring of the systoms, severe constipation accompanied with vomiting due to excessive pain, extreme exhaustion, the list is endless as are the numerous doctors that I have seen. They are all in agreement that something is not right, but what is not right is still in question. I don't know what to do or who to turn to. I am absolutely, without a doubt, positive that this surgery has destoryed my life. If anyone out there is listening and has some insight, please help me. Thanking you in advance for any help, suggestions or support that you can offer.

Princesspalace,

Wow. I'm so very, very sorry that this has happened to you.

Had you previously had a hysterectomy? Was that what caused the prolapse, cystocele and rectocele?

Can you tell us what went exactly went wrong with the first surgery?

Were the repairs done using just your own tissue, or also a synthetic material (like a mesh)?

Where exactly is your pain?

What medications are you taking?

And have you seen anyone considered to be a specialist in this area?

Please don't beat yourself up for the decision you made to have the surgery. There was no way you could have foreseen what would happen. You made the best decision you could at the time, with the advice of doctors, to deal with the symptoms you were having.

If you'll give us the answers to these questions and some more detail, we can run it by one of the experts on our Medical Advisory Board to see if we can't get some more insight for you.
