HELP...Does anyone have a treatment they can recommend for Rosacea... that actually works? I'm having a horrible time trying to get my skin moist and get the redness to go away. I look flush all the time and I've noticed that I'm getting little broken capillaries on my cheeks, nose and chin.

I've had bouts of this over the years but it's gotten much worse. I've tried Noritate cream, washing with cold water and not scrubbing my face. I've gone and had photo facial treatments and nothing seems to be working.

I am open to any treatment. Alternative, RX, diet..whatever.

Any product you can recommend that worked for you...I would love to know about. This is why I created the site.

My doctors don't have the answers. That's why I'm asking you.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Best in health,

Michelle

Most people have recommended the Made from Earth Rosehip Face Serum and Detox Cleanser - but for me, the Green Tea Toxin Cleanser, from Made from Earth, is what help rid me of my rosacea.

I have been using the Green Tea Toxin Cleanser for about 2 years. I have been pretty sure that it had significant benefits for my face, but now I am convinced.

I recently ran out and in the meantime started using an alternate cleanser. My skins redness has increased, as have small blemishes. I was delighted to spend the money this time around! It is cheap compared to other organic and chemical free cleansers, but the system works for me (cleanser & moisturizer).

Not even prescription creams have worked so well for me. I believe all the harmful chemicals in other cleansers were ADDING to my rosacea. I highly recommend the Made from Earth Green Tea Toxin Cleanser for people with rosacea - you never know if its the harful chemicals cause your face to become red like that.

As a moisturizer i use their Vitamin Enhanced Face Firming Serum - which is also chemical free...

My face has always been "rosy" and becomes more so with exposure to the elements, which doesn't help because I spend a lot of time outdoors.

I started using the Made from Earth Rosehip Hibiscus Serum last summer to soothe my skin before and after a day in the sun.

Now that it's winter, I love it even more. The cold temperatures and winds usually turn my face red and puffy to the point of stinging, but now when I get in I put on the serum to quickly calm my irritated skin. And my skin isn't flaky and dry anymore either! It's soft and healthy looking!

As someone who has been burned a few times buying products that claim (very convincingly) to be phenomenal, and also as someone who NEVER writes reviews, I felt compelled to write this one.

My husband had very bad rosacea on his face. We tried many different creams, some commercial, some alternative "all natural". He had no real luck. Then we came across a recommendation for the Made from Earth skin care line. There we found the Rosehip & Hibiscus Face Serum, which is ideal for rosacea. At $15 a bottle - we had nothing to lose since we alreday tried all the xpensive treatments that did not work!
It was inexpensive and having been burned before, I thought at least we'd only be out $15. I never expected it to work.

My husbands Rosacea is gone. Seriously. He uses this every day. He noticed a difference in a month of continious daily use. Buy it - it is worth the price and more.

Is this comment written by a sales rep from the company? My guess is yes. It is on most sites that come up when googling rosacea and its content looks very much like the typical fake.
Anyway I tried the rosehip on my own face - after I bought it for $25 + sh and the only good point about it is that it is harmless. It has no effect at all on rosacea after a month of daily application, none at all.

Thanks for asking.

The "infamous" butterfly rash associated with cutaneous lupus is Malar Rash, a little different from rosacea. It goes across the face from the forehead, down the nose and across the cheeks, hence the "butterfly" shape that gives it the descriptive moniker. Here's what the butterfly rash looks like.

There is another type of rash associated with cutaneous lupus called the discoid, or "coin," rash. Here's what the discoid rash looks like.

I have systemic lupus that affects the skin and internal organs. What fun, eh?

I found this on ZenMed for extreme rosacea treatment.

Liquid foundations certainly can cause problems for some people as they can be full of chemicals and fragrance that can irritate the skin. Liquid foundations need to be stored in a cool, dark place and have a relatively short shelf life. The rule of thumb is a 6-month lifespan for most cosmetics, but liquid and cream foundations chould be tossed in about 3 months, as they become contaminated by coming into contact with your fingers, sponges, etc.

Hope the new products you're trying work out. We all like to put our best face forward - literally, as well as figuratively.

I have a chronic condition associated with lupus, the infamous butterfly rash. It's aggravated by sun exposure, and it seems sometimes by spicy foods. It's also aggravated by skin care products that contain certain ingredients, like aloe, chamomile and fragrance. So, I have to stick with fragrance-free products, and only certain ones.

Last summer, my skin got extremely red and dry, and I thought I was developing a sensitivity to my skin care products - again, this happened before. So, I switched to Eucerin. But, my condition seemed to worsen. A savvy esthetician at our local Ulta suggested switching to Neutrogena because the lanolin in Eucerin was blocking my moisturizer. Within days, the condition cleared.

Moral of the story: sometimes the obvious treatment is not readily apparent.

You might actually be aggravating your condition by the treatments you've tried.

My mom introduced me to Oil of Olay when I was 13. Over the years, I tried a lot of different products, but returned to Olay over 10 years ago because I developed a sensitivity to products supposedly formulated for maturing skin. I currently use Olay Total Effects foaming cleanser, followed by Neutrogena toner and Olay Regenerist fragrance-free serum. At least once/week, I use the Regenerist daily regenerating cleanser as an exfoliant. This particular line of Olay products seem to work best. When I can find it, I like Olay's tinted moisturizer with SPF 15 called Touch of Sun. I also use Pur mineral-based facial powder, as it's very gentle and doesn't block my pores.

This routine may not work for you, but it's a suggestion. Hope you find relief soon!
