Hello Anon
Thank you for writing.
Your weight is fine for your height but your blood pressure is high - but not dangerously so. It's important to get your numbers down.
There are several medications that treat HBP. What works well for you, might not for someone else. For some patients, more than one medication will be tried before finding the one that works best. Diet and lifestyle changes may also be recommended to treat HBP. Diet should be fresh veg and fruit as well as fiber and low fat proteins like lean meats, and pulses as well as nuts with health fats like walnuts and almonds. The emphasis should be on unprocessed foods.
Exercise - 30 mins every day, will also help.
There are several types of drugs used to treat high blood pressure, including:
Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors.
Angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs)
Diuretics.
Beta-blockers.
Calcium channel blockers.
Alpha-blockers.
Alpha-agonists.
Renin inhibitors.
Your doctor will prescribe the right one for you.
Best,
