Guide (reply to Elizabeth Hamid)

Hello Elizabeth,

A positive pregnancy test result and later, an ultrasound which shows the developing fetus confirm a pregnancy.

During pregnancy the cells that form the placenta produce the hormone hCG. Levels can be detected in blood as early as 11 days following conception and in urine about 12 to 14 days following conception.

Though I can appreciate your desire to have an immediate answer, you will need to wait. If you do not get your period in two weeks, wait a few days, and take a home pregnancy test. If you can remember when you had unprotected sex, count ahead by two weeks and test.

I can remember having unprotected sex from last feb 7 till 20 everyday we had sex between that time, as I said normally I do experience breast tenderness before my period but that's a week before, I checked my calendar and its 2 weeks n like a day before I expect it, first time I ever experienced that. But I am thankful for ur advice, u have been most helpful , will keep in touch :)

Hello Elizabeth,

Some women experience breast tenderness prior to the start of their menstrual period. Since your period for this month is due in about two weeks, this can be a premenstrual symptom.

Have you had unprotected sex? This increases the chance of pregnancy.

If your period is late beyond one week, take a home pregnancy test.
