My daughter who is 6 came up to me last night moving her finger around. i asked her if it hurt and she said a little bit but she didnt seem distressed nor was she crying. i told her i would look at it in the morning.
it is not swollen or pale and she can move it and bend it her self ( altho she said it is a little hard to do)
Do you really think it is dislocated and warrants a trip to the ER? she seems fine today, and said it is only i little bit sore.

Hi Anonymous,
It may not be dislocated, perhaps maybe just bruised up pretty good. You are her mother and would certainly understand if her child was in need of physicians care. If there is no swelling, no real discomfort...there possibly are no issues and she just needs a few days to heal.
We cannot diagnose your daughter but certainly can offer advise. Taking her to a physician will certainly settle nerves about possible breaks or realignment if dislocated. If she is not experiencing too much pain or swelling, redness etc...it would appear to be more of a bruise instead. If the finger dislocated and then realigned itself, this will also cause some discomfort but will in turn go away after a few days.
Keep us posted. I hope this helped answer your question.
