Hello,
My name is Lauren and i am 20 years old. My husband and I have been married for a year and a half. I started my period when I was 13 and have only had about six sense then. I recently started birth control to regulate my periods because I have not had one in two years. I was wondering if I randomly miss pills like say a random 5 or 6 could I get pregnant? We are trying really patiently. It is kind of discouraging. We cannot afford fertility supplements. Do you think that my approach will work?

Hi Lauren - Your question is pretty unusual, and I will do my best to help you. Yes, you can become pregnant from missing pills. Please see this article which discusses how birth control pills work and what happens when you miss pills: https://www.empowher.com/pregnancy/content/missing-birth-control-pills-and-concerned-about-pregnancy-q

I can't tell from the information you provided whether you've talked with your gynecologist about wanting to both regulate your periods and to become pregnant. Also, has your doctor said you would need infertility treatments to become pregnant? Please help us to better understand what has led you to consider missing birth control pills as a way to become pregnant. Once we know more about your situation we can help you further.
Take care,
Pat
