Hi My brother is 40 yr old paraplegic from gunshot wound 12 years ago. Over the last couple years he has begun to faint or pass out multiple times a day. He also began experiencing short term memory loss which seems to be getting work. He nor his doctors are not doing much to pursue the reason why. Im hoping someone out there might have experienced these symptoms and can help. thank you.

Hi Anonymous,

Thank you for your question and welcome to Empowher. We cannot diagnose on here although, I would certainly get a second opinion from a new doctor if you don't seem to be getting answers from the current doctor as the symptoms that you explained could be numerous things.

Please keep us posted.

Is there a website with a Dr./specialist search feature? I have been searching for a specialist but am having problems.
Thanks

As a paraplegic, I can speak from experience. Does your brother wear an abdominal binder? You may also want to join CareCureCommunity sci.rutgers.edu which is a community devoted to spinal cord injury. As you and your brother have probably learned through the years, very few medical professionals are experienced with SCI.
