I had a hip replacement 14 years ago cause I was in a severe car accident. I am a construction worker and I have been on the road traveling from stste to state working in power plants and paper mills. Six months ago I have been experiencing severe pain in my hip. Sometimes I could hardly get out of bed and when I did finally get my feet on the floor and stand up to walk I would almost fall on my face. It was terrible pain shooting down my hip. I went to see my bone specialist and he xrayed my hip. Sure enought it showed that I had artheritis so bad that I was bone on bone.He said I would need another hip replacement. There was just no other fix. Since Im no longer able to work cause of my job duties that are required such as lifting walking and standing for long periods of time I have no insurance so I have no way of fixing my problem. Im in severe pain constantly every day . I cant walk much cause of the pain and when I do I walk with a cane. Is there anything at all I can take to ease up this pain? I have taken IBprfin, aleve and advil but after several days even they stop working. Any advice on what I can do?

MayoClinic also suggests working with a physical therapist, finding ways to keep the stress off or your joints, trying a brace or shoe insert, or taking a chronic pain class, along with other surgical procedures.
