Q:

Once or twice a week I wake up with night sweats. What could be the cause?

Could this be from diet? Vitamins? Exercise? Or just my body trying to rid itself of something? This has been happening for a couple months now.

Guide

Hello saradietz,

Night sweats are episodes of nighttime sweating that soak your nightclothes or bedding and are related to some underlying cause.

But, if you are occasionally awaken after perspiring excessively, particularly if you are sleeping under too many blankets or if your bedroom is too warm, these episodes are usually not labeled as night sweats and are not a sign of a medical problem.

Regards,
Maryann
