normally i have heavy periods, but this month i spotted for 5 days and on the 6 day is was lightish and dark in color. the first 2 days was mostly clear discharge with a drop of blood. should i see my ob or is this normal?

Thank you for writing.

If something is normal, and suddenly changes (in this case, your period) it could be due to hormonal fluctuations. This can happen due to a chemical imbalance, a change in stress levels, travel, medications or other factors that change our cycle.

Peri-menopause and menopause can also affect/change periods.

If there is a possibility of pregnancy, take a test to rule it out.

If none of the above is applicable, see what happens next month. If your period is very different again, talk to your doctor.
