Need thoughts! Afraid of pregnancy,

I am looking for feedback and anyone who has been in similar situations. I know to take a test or visit the doctor soon.

I usually have 32-33 day cycles had my last regular period may 11. On may 24(day 14 of 32 day cycle) my boyfriend and I foole around. It was pelvis to pelvis rubbing in salt water (80 degrees or so). Most of the time swimming suits. For abou20-30 seconds or so we were skin to skin and as far as we both know he did not enter me. He did not ejaculate. He could have had lunricative fluid before(but since it was underwater couldn't tell). That's as far as it went.

In June, I started getting terrible pms symptoms. Very gassy, large sore breasts, migraines, loss of appitete, tired all over, crampy, nauseous (usually of I tried to eat). So I started panicking I was pregnant. (week before period). On June 11--32 days afte first day of last period, I was going to check cm, and had red blood. So I put in a tampon, had very bad cramp, when I changed my tampon, it wasn't full as usual. Typically I have a 7 day, heavy period. The bleeding continued about 4 days but never could fill a tampon by the time I had to change it. It was very unusual but my symptoms went away so I figured it was a period.

I couldn't shake the worry after I read about implanation bleeding however, still worrying about pregnancy. I should have gotten my period July 12. Today I am two weeks late. I had one sore not swollen breast(though fibrocystic)about a week ago and it's started to subside, and bloated but those are my only symptoms. I've been checking cm and cervical position and they've been all over the place changing daily so I can't tell from that.

Pregnancy?stress?other?
I know no one knows for sure... Just wan thoughts. I'm scares to take a test alone. My boyfriend is thousands of miles away(so we have not done anything since may FYI).

Hello Anonymous,
I think high stress levels are to blame for your irregular menstrual cycle. I do not think you are pregnant.

You would know if your boyfriend had entered his penis into your vagina.

Though sperm survive well in warm, wet environments, 80 degree salt water is not a hospitable environment. Even if your boyfriend ejaculated, the chance of sperm in the hot, salt water finding their way inside you and causing you to become pregnant is none.

When you are stressed, your brain's sympathetic nerves signal your adrenal glands to release two hormones-adrenaline and cortisol.

Persistently high levels of these stress hormones can affect your health. Stress can lengthen or shorten your menstrual cycle, stop it altogether or make your periods more painful.

Try to find activities to help you relax. Some people find meditation or yoga helpful. Listen to calming music. Engage in an activity that you enjoy and that will distract you from thinking that you are pregnant, which you are not.

See if your menstrual cycle returns to normal.

I think I would take a pregnancy test and follow up with your doctor as soon as possible. I have had similar reactions and after a month gone back to my normal cycles. Pregnancy test negative but being reassured was helpful
