Hello, Anon. Thank you for posting.

I can give you some general information. Normal levels of total cholesterol in teens are between 120 and 170 mg/dl. After age 18, the levels considered to be normal rise about 1 point per year of age. Levels between 171 and 200 mg/dl are considered to be borderline high. Levels higher than 200 mg/dl in teens are high.

With low cholesterol, there's no chest pain signaling a buildup of fatty substances in an artery. Depression and anxiety can spring from many causes, including possibly low cholesterol.

We are not privy to the specifics of your son's health and test results. When your doctor told you your son had lower than normal Cholesterol, what did he advise to remedy this?
