My sister had a staph infection last year was in the hospital for days to make sure they got it all now a year later the same foot is red and swollen. She has RA . Should we be worried? Can it come back after a year?

For the benefit of our readers,staph infections are caused by Staphylococcus ("staph") bacteria. They range from a simple boil to antibiotic-resistant infections to flesh-eating infections.

Staph infection can reoccur, especially if they weren't cleared up 100% the first time. Staph is very difficult to treat.
Your sister needs to seek immediate medical advice - please treat her symptoms as an emergency.
