I am on Loestrin Fe 1.5/30 I just switched to this birth control about a month ago and lately I been feeling tired all the time, I have very sensitive nipples, I am constantly bloated, and I've been constipated a lot lately. I have also had very light spotting for a day and then it stopped, now I just have light colored discharge a lot often. Is it normal to have these symptoms on my birth control? These are very similar to pregnancy symptoms and I am just curious because I have never experienced these type symptoms on any other birth control before.

How old are you, and have you had any type of sex education? Please let us know what you do understand regarding sexual intercourse and how a baby is created, so we can fill in the gaps for you...it is amazing what is being left out of education these days!

To answer your question: no, it is not possible to be pregnant without having sex.

No, masturbation can not lead to pregnancy..it is actually very safe and a good choice to engage in because it is 100% guaranteed not to lead to pregnancy.

The only way to become pregnant is to have sexual intercourse with a man, and when his penis is inserted into your vagina, the fluid-containing-sperm is ejaculated into your vagina. The sperm meets the egg (at the right time), and a pregnancy can occur.

How are you feeling about the sex education you have received in school? I am surprised that a 16 year old would not know this information, and I would love to answer any other questions you have!

Thank you for your answer! It helps to see it in writing as oppose to guessing on my own : ) I hate to wait two weeks but it looks like I have to be patient!

I had my period on Nov 21, and had unprotected sex on the 29th. My cycles are normally 30 days long. I'm currently feeling dull pain (pinching, more of an awareness but not horrible pain) on both sides of my uterus. I'm aware that sperm can live in a woman's body for up to 5 to 7 days with perfect conditions but more like up to 3 days. Since the 29th, I've had sex on 12/1 and 12/5 but used the pull out method (without condoms). I normally don't feel pain or cramps during the middle of my 30 day cycle. Is there a possiblity that I'm pregnant? It seems to me that I was not ovulating on the 29th, nor can I imagine that the sperm could live that long (I am assuming that I ovulated on the 4th (used online ovualation calculator). Any thoughts would be appreciated! I'm anxious to find out some info as oppose to waiting two more weeks! Thx!

I wish I could tell you a more definitive answer, but there is no way to know until you have either missed a period and have a positive result on a home pregnancy test, or, you begin your next period.

Your LMP (last menstrual period) was 11/21, and you had unprotected sex on 11/29, 12/1 and 12/5. The pull-out/withdrawal method is still "unprotected" sex, as you did not use any form of barrier or hormonal contraceptive. The withdrawal method is a type of birth control that is only about 75% effective at preventing pregnancy with typical use.

Since today is 12/8, you are only on "day 18" of your cycle, and the cramping you are experiencing could be anything, unfortunately. It is most likely not pregnancy symptoms, as it takes 10-14 days after ovulation for a woman to even become pregnant, and then another few weeks to have noticeable symptoms...the first "symptom" of pregnancy is a missed period. (The 10-14 days to become pregnant is interesting---it takes this long for an egg to be released, the sperm to fertilize the egg in the fallopian tube, the fertilized egg to travel down the fallopian tube into the uterus, then find a nice spot to implant itself...quite a process!).

Cramping you feel now could be related to changes in your hormones (that fluctuate normally throughout your cycle), or could be digestive "issues". The ovulation calculators are, at best, predictors, and can not guarantee of pinpoint an exact date. Some women feel a slight cramp when the ovulate; most do not or it is not noticeable.

Bottomline: Every woman wants to know if they are pregnant, and unfortunately, there is no way to know until you have missed a period!
