Hi I have been having some cramping off and on my period isn't due for exactly two weeks I believe I am ovulating or close to ovulation. I have almost always had an irregular period until I had an unfortunate misscariage in may now my cycle is exactly 30 days my last period was on aug 4th and my fiance and I have been rather active the past week and a half tonight included. I had just started the cramping after intercourse tonight what are my chances of becoming pregnant?

hello I had my period on July 6-9. I had sex then maybe 5 times after then on the 20th I started having uterine cramps. I went to the doctor on the 23 and she gave me cipro for a uti. I still have the cramping no bleeding, no urgency to urinate or burning when I urinate, but 3 or 4 trips to the toilet in the night. my period is not due until the 2nd of Aug. I have been having these funny uterine cramps almost two weeks. Oh and my breast are only tender at the nipples. tired also. this was my original post before i registered for the site

Hi, Anon!

Welcome to EmpowHer, and congratulations on trying to conceive!

Usually, the first symptoms women feel when they are very early in a pregnancy (besides the fact that their period doesn't come, of course) are slight nausea, the need to urinate more frequently, fatigue and swollen or tender breasts. So what your'e experiencing isn't a typical experience of those first couple of weeks.

HOWEVER, many women have NO symptoms of pregnancy until after they miss that first period. And in fact, a HPT won't be accurate until right around that missed period. The pregnancy tests work in this way: They detect levels of a hormone called HCG, which is the pregnancy hormone, in your urine. If it's not there, the test is negative.

You're probably a little early to feel any symptoms. Hang in there and see what happens with your period. I know how hard it is to wait!

Why would I be cramping, bloated, and having back pain 2 1/2 weeks before my period is due? This has never happened to me before?

Hi,
There are so many reasons for these symptoms, including:
- pregnancy
- early period/pre-menstrual symptoms
- digestive problems
- excess stress, fatigue, anxiety
- dietary or other lifestyle-related factors

Can you explain more what you are worried about? Have you had unprotected sex recently, and are worried about pregnancy?
