Hey Nikki,
January 14, 2011 - 8:08amThe problem with pregnancy symptoms this early on is that they can be hard to differentiate from symptoms of your period coming on. The withdrawal (pull-out) method is roughly 70% accurate at preventing pregnancy, but if you didn't clean off the semen, you may have put yourself at more risk of pregnancy. In any given month, a normal, healthy woman of child-bearing age has about a 20% chance of getting pregnant.
The symptoms you are experiencing could be your period, but in the case you miss it when you expect it next week, then you can take a pregnancy test. Some tests say they are accurate up to 5-days before you expect your period, but you may not get a strong, reliable reading until you miss your period. Hope that makes sense.

Good luck and let us know how you're doing.

hi i have a question for you, on monday dec 13 2010, i had slight cramping all day and i dont start my period till the end of the month (dec 30th or so), i only had the cramps for only that day though. what would this mean? could i be pregnant?

Slight cramping one day would not be a "sign" of anything, especially since it went away after that one day. Everyone has aches and pains that are not identifiable at different points in our life, and it would be unnecessary to analyze every one of them! Cramping is such a general "ache", that it could have been related to your menstrual/hormone cycle, it could have been related to your GI tract (gas, bloating).
If you are concerned about pregnancy, are you having protected sex and/or are using birth control? That would be the "thing" to concern yourself with, and education yourself on for future! We can help if you would like more information on safer sex or birth control options.

I was wondering if you could help me. I had my last period approximately 3 weeks ago and my next period is not supposed to come for another two weeks. I have a chart that helps me to predict ovulation and such. It says that I ovulated about three days ago. today I am very moody, tired, and I have been cramping. Also, when I went to the bathroom there was some minimal spotting. I had sex the day after my last period, the day of ovulation, and all weekend. Could this be pregnancy? Also, I have the IUD. Just thought that was something you should know. But I heard that you can still get pregannt with the IUD.

Hi Jenn0815,
November 30, 2010 - 7:41amThe IUD is an effective method of birth control (roughly 99%). How long have you had yours? I have heard of women experiencing side effects like you describe with IUD. If the symptoms concern you, or it's excruciating, call your doctor. What do you think?
Good luck and let us know how you're doing.

I'm going to take one. I was just wondering if anyone thinks it sounds like I'm pregnant. I'm going to take a test though, I would just really appreciate some opinions please.

Hi, I'm TTC and my last period was October 23. I believe I ovulated November 5 - 10 but I'm not sure. I have been having unprotected sex a lot. It's about a week before my period starts. I have been having cramps, back pain, nausea, frequent urination, sore nipples, fuller breasts, and very very bloated. Could I be pregnant?

You will need to take a pregnancy test to find out if you're pregnant. Good luck!

Hello,
I am 38 years of age and I am trying to have a baby. I had very large fibroids removed and I don't currently have any children...I've been tracking my periods and when I ovulate. I am experiencing pain during sex but it only seem to be painful when I'm ovulating. Can you tell me what this might mean?
