Wow I am having nearly the same condition. My feet, legs, and knees hurt all the time. But it is worse in the morning, and I am stiff as a board when I get out of bed. It does gradually get better throughout the day. I am 5'6 160lbs. But it always still hurts, when I sit or stand in one position for more than 15minutes it gets worse. My muscles tighten, they become stiff. I can't walk down stairs (I can go up, my knees just make creeking sounds). This all started last May, when my right knee swelled up really big (no injury) then fluid traveled all over in my leg, mostly the way gravity took it, to my ankle. I had no insurance at then time, so I had some crutches at home from my Grandfather, I used those because I couldn't walk. It took a week or do for the swelling to go away. I was scheduled to be out of country in July for a month visiting family, so I went even with my leg bothering me (I could walk again at this point). I was there two weeks and got Shingles, I flew home with it and got trated for it. I still can't walk well, and all of my "old" injuries hurt too, like my pinky finger I broke in 4th grade. I strech still daily, and exercise even though it is extremely painful. It hurts so bad I developed a jaw clinching thing I do it constantly, that hurts too (but not nearly as bad). Any ideas of what the heck is going on with my body? Oh I forgot to mention I went to an orthopedic surgeon, and he told me to lose some weight, he sent me for an xray of my right leg, since that is where it all started, and I haven't been back. The xray was negative.

Just wanted to add that I don't do much excercise at the moment, take a B12 and flaxseed supplement most days and was told I had low iron levels, so I need to get some iron tablets.

I've had the same problem for the last few weeks- I just woke up one day like it and it's never gotten better :( I can't understand it, my knees constantly hurt when I walk or move, and my hips occassionally. Since yesterday my left arm hurts also.

I had some blood tests done last week for a medical (unrelated to this, I haven't mentioned it to the doctor) and it showed I have a high white platelet count- 494.

Not sure what to do, I feel very run down at the moment as also have hayfever for the first time (living in a new country) and a cold. I think I eat fairly healthily...I'm vegan and my BMi is 23.

Bridgett,

Please don't make such sweeping statements without some research or studies to back up your facts. Can you refer us to medical research supporting your statements?

When I read everybody's post, I thin more then one thing is going on. Some with lingering pain, some with additional symptoms. My naturapath asked me to illiminate grains, except rice, nuts, dairy, nightshades, and legumes. I practiced doing that befor the big 10 day quit. So for 8 I managed, and felt no change, except a little less bloating and lost a few pounds (I'm not over weight, but not really in top shape, either. But I'll try for longer. I fell great moving around, I just hurt using my feet, legs, or hands and arms after they have been idle for 20 minutes or so. Still researching. Suspicious this has something to do with quality of blood.

I too experience many of the symptoms mentioned above. One very important item I did not see mentioned was Pro Biotics. I use Natren Healthy Trinity. If your digestion is not in line a lot of things go haywire. With low impact exersize (eliptical, swimming and especially yoga) along with Omega 3, Sam e, glucosemine/condrointin, calcium and vitamin C, I have improved to the point that I only take asprin adivil ( I woul alternate) when I am having a really bad day. I was up to 6 every 4 hours. Pro biotics helps build your immune system as well and in the last 7 years I can only remember having 1 cold and have not missed any work for being sick.

When you get flare ups try to go to a chiropractor/health doctor that can do "cold laser therapy" I can recommend one in Dallas, TX. But if you are not from Dallas you maybe able to find one in your area. When you becaome inflammed your muscles get "used" to being damaged or "hurt" feeling. Then you brain tells them to only move so far as not to damage them further. My legs were doing that, and it turns out my whole body was out of whack. After losing weight and exercising as much as my legs could let me (which was not very much), my chiropractor fixed my problem. She was able to "reset" my brain (the nerve path) with lasers. I was able to tell my muscles I want to move further, and without pain. Now it did not completly fix my problem, I still get stiff on some days (mostly days that I skip my workout). But I feel 90% better. Here is the info of the doctor I saw in Dallas, tell her Jennifer B sent you, Dr. Victoria Le, D.C. 1111 kinwest parkway, ste 130, irving, TX 75063, phone 972-506-8776, website www.yestoperfecthealth.com. I hope that helps!

I'm taking the zyflamed like crazy, as well as fish oil and I still got a flare up a few days ago that just won't ease off. I was doing really good for awhile, too. The only thing that really helps is Celebrex and I really want to get off the NSAIDS. Lisa P
