There are many causes of foot pain. Your doctor will consider several potential causes. Probably the most likely is something called plantar fasciitis, a condition in which the connective tissue on the bottom of the foot in front of the heel bone becomes inflamed.
Injury, overuse or conditions causing inflammation involving any of the bones, ligaments or tendons in the foot can cause foot pain in the various area of the foot.
