My daughter is now 26 and has major dpress. Disorder w/ psychosis. She has been diagnosed with asplenia since the age of 8. She has continually had high white cell counts of 19000 to 41000. Yet does not always have signs of infection.

I cannot remember once that it was in normal range, yet only aprox. 1 of ten times she has an infection

For the benefit of our readers, Asplenia refers to the absence of normal spleen function and is associated with some serious infection risks. It seems your daughter has, so far, not had many infections from what you say. I hope her mental health issues will improve with time (and treatment).
