s for years, and suffered hearing lost for a long time. but this time is different.music seems to be distorted, and certain speaking voices has a doubleing type of sound. this really worries me. i also suffer from allergies is there any hope for me? thankyou for your time dr.

I'm glad you are you seeing an ENT about this. I'm sure he or she will be able to diagnose and offer some help. It's not uncommon to have some hearing loss with age, it's, of course, the severity that is a concern.

It sounds like you have Tinnitus. Tinnitus is a physical condition, experienced as noises or ringing or buzzing in the ears or head when no such external physical noise is present. Tinnitus is usually caused by a fault in the hearing-system; it is a symptom, not a disease in itself. You can read through the resource below.
