My period is usually irregular, but the last few months I've gotten it on the 11th. This month I got my period on the 11th and it ended around the 15/16th. On the 18th of February my boyfriend and I had sex. Little did we know that the condom broke and he came. mind you, we didn't notice this until after and realized there was not anything in the condom. that same day about 2 hours later I bought and took the plan b pill. On the 21st I had very light bleeding, but it wasn't eniugh to go on a panty liner, only when I wiped when I used the restroom. this went on for a few days. After that on the 25th exactly a week later my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex. he did not "finish" and pulled out. I know plan b shouldn't be used as a regular birth control and I know blasting hormones into someone's body can make them very orregular, butbbeing the worried person I abam biught plan b and took it on the 25th to "be safe". Again the bleeding came and went away after a few hours. It was a little darker and a bit heavier but still not enough to go on a pad. I know it's not smart to swlf diagnose myself but I've been reading that this bleeding can be caused by the implantation of an egg onto the uterus. I just wanted to know if it is normal what my body is doing due to the plan b? Im planning to get on birth control very soon and I know I wont know until I take a pregnancy test, but Injusy wanted some reassurance and guidance.

Hi Balcaraz,

Plan B can cause a change in your period and that is more than likely what is going on with you. Implantation bleeding occurs one week before your next period is due, not in the patterns that you are describing. Your next period may be late or early-- it's hard to tell, especially because you took two Plan B cycles in such a short period of time.

Please read up on the side effects and don't make a habit of taking Plan B as a method of birth control.

Best,

Rosa

Thank you for your response! I'm a little at ease now. the thing that makes me scared is like I said my period usually starts on the 11th and it is close to the week mark you commented about.

I forgot to mention, the first time I bled I noticed the color was a little off than usual. it was a bit brighter and sometimes came out brown like dried blood, which has me scared it can be an egg implaning onto my uterus. please I would like to know if it's normal.
