Hello :)....me and my boyfriend has sexual intercourse 4 days into me starting my pill(this is my first month starting on the pill)...we wore a condom and he did not ejaculate....the 2 and 3rd time was about 3/4 weeks into my pill...he wore a comdom both times and didn’t ejaculate either....but for some reason I’m a bit worried about pregnancy ...I know I sound stupid ....but I’m on my week break from taking the pill where I’m supposed to bleed and no there’s no sign of blood but I’ve had lots of brown discharge for like the last 2 weeks...do u think pregnancy is possible here ...and do u think my period isn’t here because I’m getting used to the pill...can u please explain as I’m a bit worried thank you so much :)

Hello Amanda123

Thank you for writing.

Your spotting and brown discharge is likely due to your body getting used to the Pill. This is normal. From what you have said, there is no risk of pregnancy. When taking the Pill, you are protected immediately unless you are a Sunday start, and most people start at the beginning or end of their periods.
These side effects sort themselves out for the most part - it may take a few months. A lot of women are nervous about pregnancy when first on the Pill but it is over 99% effective when taken properly. Since you are also using condoms and there is no ejaculation, it would be some sort of unexplained miracle for you to get pregnant.
Keep taking your pills as usual. Give your body a few months to get used to these daily hormone pills.
Best,
Susan
