16 yrs PD dialysis last year got 1st peritonitis infection. Sept 2017 quadruple heart surgery. Began hemodialysis. Removal PD catheter sent home. Encapsulated peritoneal sclerosis with peritonitis infection. Return to hospital Oct 23, 2017. Severe pain diagnosed EPS Bowel obstruction. No treatment until transfer to St Francis Ng tube inserted 8 hours of vomiting and tons of bile. No antibiotics to treat peritonitis infection and failed exploratory laproscopy resulted in perforated bowel, excessive bleeding from clipping artery still no antibiotics before or after surgery active peritonitis infection. Long term PD dialysis 48 yrs old male had fever of 102.2 for 5 days still no antibiotics treatment. The surgeon "gave up" never seen abdominal adhesions before this case. Another surgeon did ielostomy 4 months hospitalized and antifungal antibiotics given 2x a day. 3 JP drains to remove peritonitis infection. The surgeon will not discuss treatment for EPS, bowel obstruction, or reversal of ieolstomy. Prognosis is full recovery- however, we have been referred to hospice and told he has only 2 months left. I have been married to this incredible man 25 yrs. I am desperately trying to find clinical trial research, mayo clinic, or something besides confusion & frustration.

Hello. Thank you for posting.
Usually, your doctor or hospital will recommend or refer you to these trials. We don't have such a referral service. We post health information and answer health questions. I do hope you find something your husband can try.
Best of luck.
