I feel like my lips are very dry and the inside of my lips are red and burn slightly My tip of my tongue is also irritated? Has been going on for about two weeks or so? I have a red patch on inside of bottom lip??? No sores and my nasal passage seems dry also?

I found something that helped take care of this! I have had the same symptoms most of you mentioned for a week now and was happy to find this thread. I felt like I had too much salt (I rarely salt food) or that I burned my tongue and inside my lips because they were so sore and raw feeling. I thought maybe the mint and cinnamon gum I purchase changed their ingredients and caused this issue. I could see dark patches inside my lips that looked raw and the tastebuds of first inch of my tongue were more pronounced.

I am not one to run to a doctor usually. I will try using salt, baking soda, heat, or oregano oil for most ailments first. For this issue it was the oregano oil that did the trick. This stuff is excellent for bacteria and viral issues and it knocked what this lip/tongue in the butt as well. I will never say to put oregano oil directly on a sensitive area like inside your mouth but I was willing to try since I was so raw anyway. I opened a gel cap and rubbed the oil inside my lips and on my tongue and then rinsed with water after 20 seconds. The oil was still doing it’s magic but it was more bearable to rinse. After the second time doing this yesterday I felt tons better. Today I did it twice and I think the issue is totally gone.

I'm having this issue too. The insides of my lips have been feeling a bit pruny, like after eating a lot of very salty popcorn. Today I woke up with severe redness, almost like flat blood blisters all around the insides of my lips.
My suspicion was that it has to do with my salicylate intolerance, and these comments confirm that. I was also dealing with super dry lips and repeated bouts of angular cheilitis before discovering the salicylate intolerance. Last week, before my lips started feeling pruned and weird, I had spicy tomatoes. Had them again last night.i knew it was a bad move, but this symptom is new. Anyway, might be worth it for some of you to look into SS and try cutting out salicylates for a week or so to see if your mouth/lip issues resolve.

I have been having these issues, as well. It is about to drive me nuts. The inside of my lips are irritated and feel "pruney". The tip of my tongue is affected, as well. My mouth will get very dry. And sometimes I have a slight metallic taste. I had all of my vitamin levels drawn to see if I had a deficiency. This was not the case. Anyone find a solution?

Its a decrease in hormones due to menopause, pregnancy or pms. I get it right after my almost non existant flow for about a week. It hurts so bad. Im 43.

Hi- do you have any additional info about why hormone fluctuations cause this? I started with slightly swollen lips about 3 weeks ago - they are no longer swollen but I have a pruney feel and slightly salty or metallic taste on inside of my lips.
