Hello. Thank you for posting.
Diverticulitis is an inflammation of one or more diverticula, which are small pouches, resulted from herniations or protrusions of the intestinal mucosa and submucosa. Your doctor will determine the dosing instructions he or she feels is best. Often, doctors prescribe the following dosages:
Ciprofloxacin (Cipro) 500 mg twice daily plus metronidazole 400-500 mg 2-3 times per day for 7-10 days. This can vary depending on the condition being treated and the severity.
Try calling your doctor. He or she might be on call or another doctor covering.
