For personal experience if your scoliosis is not too bad I mean less than 30 degrees better do not do it. The risks of go through surgery are very hard. In my experience things did not go good. And I finished with damage in some nerves in my left leg. Surgery is recommended mostly when other organs like heart or lungs are on risk of damaged for the twisted ribs. If you can walk normally, and you do not have pain just do exercises as Yoga for scoliosis [unrelated website link removed by EmpowHER moderator] and that will help you feel better.

I'm not Maryann, but I am another Guide at EmpowHER. I have had scoliosis, and didn't need any braces or surgery (luckily). I still have a slight curvature in the base of my spine, and I sometimes have trouble with my hips being tight. But with exercise, the pain is kept to a minimum. Depending on how severe your case, a doctor could recommend treatment that would be right for you and cost effective.
