Hello. Thank you post posting.
Having abdominal pain doesn't automatically mean you have an ectopic pregnancy. The same goes for your periods being lighter. Here is some information about ectopic pregnancy.
An ectopic pregnancy is the attachment of a fertilized egg either in the fallopian tubes or anywhere other than the uterus and will produce the pregnancy hormone HCG, so you will get a positive on a pregnancy test. A woman experiencing an ectopic pregnancy will most often experience the same early signs of pregnancy that occur with a “normal” pregnancy. But as an ectopic pregnancy progresses, other symptoms may develop, including:
Belly pain or pelvic pain that may get worse with movement or straining.
Heavy or severe vaginal bleeding.
Pain with intercourse or during a pelvic exam.
Dizziness, lightheadedness and/or fainting caused by internal bleeding.
These are the most common. In most cases, an ectopic pregnancy will be discovered by the 8th week of pregnancy. Ectopic pregnancies can turn into medical emergencies suddenly if untreated or undetected. So it's important that a doctor diagnose this type of pregnancy as soon as possible.
