Hi nas_734,
We are not doctors. You should contact your mother's doctor for information about dealing with complications of her condition such as these bed sores. We can only provide documented information from our website and other reputable sites to assist you in advocating for your health (and the health of loved ones).
Please review the information I provided and give your mother's doctor a call.
Thanks again for your question, and best of health to you and your family for the new year.

Hi Anonymous,
Bed sores are called pressure sores, because they are caused by excessive pressure focused on certain areas for an extended period for instance when bedridden as your mother is. Information I found suggests changing position every 2 hours, and trying to decrease pressure on the areas of sores as much as possible. Keep them clean, remove dead skin, and dress sores with bandages. Wash hands before treating bed sores to avoid further infection.
For more information about treatment, consult with your mother's doctor, and review this link to help you advocate for her health also: Bed Sore Treatment Suggestions
Good luck and let us know how else we may be able to help.
