Q:

Is it true that the later I wait to have kids, the more at risk I will be?

I am not ready to have children but I want to some day. More and more women are having kids later in life but does it put me or my chances at risk the longer I wait?

Hi Hayden,

Welcome to EmpowHER. As a women gets closer to her 40's the harder and more risk there is in a pregnancy. The eggs supply decreases significantly as a woman ages and the eggs that do remain can have chromosomal problems that raise the risk for miscarriages and birth defect.

Best,

Daisy
