Is it possible to pass warts if Ive never had them?

I have HVP, I was diagnosed with cervical cancer that went away on its own about 2 years ago. my boyfriend recently got warts. I have never had warts, and neither has my previous partner. Is it possible that I gave him warts with out having them? Can I pass a different strand of hpv than the kind I have? Can I pass them even if Im immune to getting them? Or, can I be causing him to break out?

Dear Silverknee,

If your boyfriend has warts then you need to go to your Gynecologist and get tested for STDs. It is possible to pass it on even without an outbreak so please get tested as soon as possible.

Best,

Rosa
