Q:

Is it possible I'm pregnant

I had sex for the first time (and only once) almost 6 weeks ago. We used a condom and afterwards checked to make sure it worked. I was also on the first day of my period. Now I'm 12 days late and scared. My boobs just started getting sore, and I've felt some cramps in my lower stomach this week along with increased gas this last month. I never really kept track of my periods before and don't know if I'm regular but my last one came in less than 3 weeks. I'd take a test but I'm scared to death and don't want to do it alone.

Guide

Hello. Thank you for your message.

It's good a condom was used. When used consistently and correctly, condoms are about 98% effective in preventing pregnancy. When not used correctly the % will decrease. This is why it's important to follow directions for correct use. Given your information, it's very unlikely you would be pregnant. May things, including stress, can impact the menstrual cycle. If you are still scared, a pregnacy test can ease your mind.
