Hello, Anon! Thank you for writing.

Nodules found on an x-ray and/or CT scan of the chest are very common. They are called nodules because we often do not know what they are. In some cases, they represent cancer while in others they represent scarring or infection.

Kidney cysts are round pouches of fluid that form on or in the kidneys. Kidney cysts can be associated with serious disorders that may impair kidney function. But more commonly, kidney cysts are a type called simple kidney cysts — noncancerous cysts that rarely cause complications.

We can't know the specifics of your scans and health. What did your doctor say? Discuss your scan results with your doctor and what it means for your health moving forward.

Keep us updated.
