I think I'm faced with yet, another surgery. It looks like I'm going to have the sling procedure done to lift my bladder. No, it's not fallin and it can't get up...My bladder just isn't cooperating. Has anyone had the sling procedure done?

Hi anonymous and thank you for your question.
The sling procedure is fairly new and involves implanting a small, adjustable sling, which acts like a hammock, to support the bladder neck and control leakage, according to the Mayo Clinic.
Here is a great link to an article from the Mayo Clinic in regards to the procedure. It appears to be minimally invasive in comparison to other procedures used in the past. You can read the article here http://www.mayoclinic.org/news2006-jax/3562.html.
Healthline.com also provides some great information about the procedure here http://www.healthline.com/galecontent/sling-procedure.
Another great attribute about EmpowHer.com is that we offer a Connect Section where you can speak personally to other Women about similar issues. You can start by clicking here https://www.empowher.com/community/all/connect. You can search by topic or health issue. I hope this helps.
