If my white blood count is 19, do i need to seek emergency help?

A normal/healthy white blood count is between 4,300 and 10,800 cells per cubic millimeter of blood. When you were given your results, what was said to you?

A low WBC or White Blood Cell count is usually caused by one of the following:

Viral infections that temporarily disrupt bone marrow function
Congenital disorders characterized by diminished bone marrow function
Cancer or other diseases that damage bone marrow
Autoimmune disorders that destroy white blood cells or bone marrow cells
Overwhelming infections that use up white blood cells faster than they can be produced
Drugs that destroy white blood cells or damage bone marrow
If you were just sick-- this would explain a low WBC. But for a specific reason as to why your WBC's were low, then you will have to discuss this with your doctor.
