Hi Anonymous,

I have searched many different articles for an answer for you, however, the research seems to lack conformity. I would strongly suggest that you talk to your treating physician for any concerns that you might have about spine issues - genetics , etc. Here is probably the best article that I found published in 2008 which suggests that scoliosis and genetic factors are commonly associated with additional characteristics as well http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18812929.
